AeroPress was invented in 2005 by Alan Adler, and became one of the most unique and famous coffee makers worldwide. It is a cheap and portable version of the infusion brewer. AeroPress combines two different brewing methods, such as French press and Filter.

1. Weigh and Grind

Grind your coffee just before you start brewing. Be sure to weigh the coffee first.  Use 40g (9 tbs) of ground coffee and 500ml of water (96°C) for making two cups of coffee.

2. Set up

Put a filter paper into the filter holder and lock it into the body of the brewer. Run hot water through to rinse the paper and heat the brewer. Place the main part on top of the mug, and now add freshly ground coffee ( 15g of coffee per 200ml of water for one cup).

3. Add water

Boil a kettle of fresh water. Wait ten to twenty seconds after the kettle has boiled, then add the desired amount of water to the AeroPress. Start a timer for one minute.

4. Brewing

Give the coffee a quick stir, and put the piston part of the AeroPress in place. DO NOT PLUNGE YET. This creates a vacuum preventing the liquid from dripping out the bottom of the brewer. Let it sit for one minute.

5. Plunge

Slowly push down the plunger until all the liquid has been expelled. Pull the piston back a few inches to stop the liquid from dripping.

6. Final step

Enjoy!
